There's always Australia's own Bad Piper...

God help him if he runs out of ACDC songs to play though...

I stand by my word though.

no message intended for anything, I actually like this song and I thought only with a marching band until now. Not many songs capture a mood like this one.

Band were incredible especially Skin Tyson and Justin Adams on guitars. Not just Strats and LPs but the full gamut of makes. Skin had about 12 different guitars on the racks to the side of the stage and he used all of them.

Guitars have never excited me. My wrists don't bend that way. :p

But it's nice to hear that he's still doing the older stuff and not simply trying to push his latest releases.

It's kind of weird when you think about it. Anthems of revolt and revolution were the norm in the 60's and 70's when we were all kids and nowdays people are lining up in corporate suits and ties to listen to grandpa geezers sing about the revolution they sold out a long time ago.

"Irony is like Bronzey but made of iron..." Baldrick, Blackadder the Second.... :D :D :D

So true Gary!

A couple of factors driving that are:

1. "Baby Boomers": Due to superior health and education post-war, a lot of those revolutionary kids grew up, cut their hair, stopped taking drugs and are now comfortably retired after successful careers with cash to burn.

2. The younger Gen-X crowd (and I'm one of them) enjoy the music after being introduced to it by parents, older siblings, music teachers. And they love it because when all's said and done, it's great music the like of which we don't really see today. These people are now in their 40's and also have cash to burn!

These are the main types we see at our classic rock gigs so very familiar with the demographics!

Agreed, they're a very tight progressive band.

Also very much into the whole steampunk motif...

Now I finally get to blame you for something :D . I must have spent 10 hrs listening and watching Erik Norlander stuff. He recently played for a while with John Payne and Asia I saw. I love some of Asia's stuff but he's kind of restrained with that. He's really into vintage keyboards, moogs and stuff, and he makes me think of where I might have gone had I continued more seriously back in the day because I definitely relate to his ear and style.

"The uploader has not made this video available in your country" I had to watch a different one . What's up Cowboy! Just thinking of you while listening to Asia and that "4 chord phenom" you shocked me with :) .
Glad you liked it Al. It's a simple tune but its beauty is in its simplicity, a clever arrangement and fun lyrics. Appropriate for those of us in the Antipodes at this time of year!

Sorry the YouTube didn't work! Here's a live version:

Inbox has been kinda slim the past few weeks.

My guess is that everyone's burnt out from the holidays.

Anyway... How come this never happens in my living room?

Enjoy :)

Gary ;)
