Good to hear some Stevie.

I've been listening to all sorts of classic rock pieces the past few weeks as I go thru my collection ripping MP3's from albums.

At this particular moment I've ripped about 10,000 songs and I'm only about halfway thru.

I'm taking a break for a few days just to break the monotony.

Here's some of the stuff I've been listening to.

Hey:)

Stevie is great! As is Steppenwolf Rigway and Dire! Need some spare time to watch the whole of the Sultans clip. Later!

My contribution today is an Aussie guitar legend. Paul Kelly. An absolute song writing genius.

Enjoy . .

Does he ever perform with a group or is he strictly a solo guitarist?

I can't say I'm crazy about this clip. Kinda puts me to sleep.

Gary . .
Sorry for tardy reply mate. Busy day.
Paul Kelly has played in bands. "Coloured Girls" "Dots" another one I can't remember ?
Anyway he is more a storyteller and lyricist. The song above is an example of his brilliant song writing.

His style of music is usually mellow and acoustic and not dynamic and powerful. He is not for everyone and may take a few listens to a few of his tunes to appreciate and enjoy.

This one is a little more upbeat. One of his early ones.
What do think?

I've never heard of this but when it popped up on my youtube I had to watch and I love it! Not for Gary though. It'll make him nervous!

I ain't skeered of no cat... Who ya gonna call? Cat Busters!!!

Nice sort of Skrillex/Nine Inch Nails vibe though.

Personally I think he ripped off my album cover to do his video though :p

Well while we're on a cat theme...

I did this song in my singing lessons a long while ago, and it used to drive Ian absolutely crazy! :D

Now back to what I've actually been listening to, for some reason it has featured a lot of Paul Simon recently...

I'm a big Loreena McKennitt fan. I own quite a few of her albums. I think I have this one in my collection already.

If you enjoyed the middle eastern scales in that one I think you'll enjoy this one as well.

PS. Becky >>> The Meow song is hilarious. It pretty much sounds the same to me as all the opera I've ever heard :D :D :D

Such a lot happening here!
The middle eastern vibe played in rock songs is magical. I love it.
Another one is from Chess . . One Night in Bankok" Great tune.
Also Becky and Paul, The Queen tune is awesome keeping with the cat theme. Love the cartoon Becky. It reminded me of Jeremy's thread and the stories of missing cats . . eventually returning home on the doorstep. lol.

Great memories Gary (your last 3). Not played them yet but I know them all.
I am going to hit the play button now.

Ray
